He looks me up and down as I hoover in the corner behind him. My black attire offers a visual contradiction to his light blue denim jeans and purple puffy jacket. I sigh.
He is of Spanish descent, and his girlfriend was wearing a fake fur coat.
They look at the exhibition with a quick rush of interest as permitted by the 'ten minutes until closing time' address allows.
As I walk out of the gallery, my legs are confused as I can walk more than 100 feet in the same direction for the first time in eight hours.

Daily update

The joys of living around Angel is that I can really become a 'local' - the ability to have my favourite shops that I am a regular patron of.

Take for example my espresso man, Steffen, with his mobile stand outside of the horrific Toni&Guy salon my the tube station. He helped me through my thesis with his double espressos, has listened to my tears and rants, and is just an amazing person.

Yesterday was quite an amazing day, despite recent current events. After getting my espresso, I decided to buy a cheap mag to read at the gym. At the stand, the woman asked me what I wanted, to which I replied 'Grazia'.
'You want to kill your mind?' she asked me.
I just need something light to read at the gym was my slightly embarrassed answer.
'You might as well take a tab of ecstasy', she howled. 'You would have more fun!'
Too right I said in agreement. She then asked me where I was from.
'Canada? Good for you. Have you ever heard of Brunswick stew?'
No. What is it?
'Made out of squirrels. Historical Acadian dish.'
Woweee! I love squirrels! Might be a little dirty though...a bit disease ridden.
'Yes, shame they don't eat them now'.
I went off.

When I was returning home from my day 'in town' some chavvy little tosser informed me that I was only wearing one sock. Little did he know that one of them was a ankle sock and was craftily hidden in my boot to trouble the vision of passerbys....

hmmm...

Surprises today! I wonder what my horoscope had in store for me, but I am pleased to say everything worked out for the best.

AF

dear diary,
i am so pleased to tell you that i finally have my life back! no longer am i dreaming of artist installations, fair budgets and outdoor tents. instead, after 3 days of ten hour sleeping sessions, my sanity has finally returned to normal.
i thought about having this blog as a platform for me to review art shows, etc, but since i work and practically live in the art work, i would rather not. and to be quite honest, who cares if i like a show or not? i can only last about ten minutes in a gallery, 20 mins MAX in a museum, which does not lend itself to the formation of critical thought long enough to post.
instead, i would like to write about my life in london. everyday really is a new experience and i don't want to forget it.
